Crystal Sands and Sunshine Daydream

Second Life
(Eman and Bridge Resourcing Solutions are proud to sponsor live music in SL)

I have been a fan of Second Life for a long time and one of my favorite pastimes there is listening to live music. My employer and I sponsor music on two stages as part of our support for Live Music in SL. So I am very pleased to share this information about my favorite venue. I ask the owner of Crystal Sands a few questions.

Q: Sandi how long has Crystal Sands been around?

A: Crystal Sands is officially 1 years old in October. I can’t believe it’s been a year, time flies in Secondlife.

Q: What was your concept for starting out and building this great venue?

A: Crystal Sands Is a live music beautiful beach like venue, with stadium seating and dance areas. Musicians and fans have been coming for a year to hear the best play and listen to some of the best music in SL.

Q: You added a new stage and it has a theme I really like! Why a second stage?

A: Sunshine Daydream is fairly new and has a large outdoor stage and a beautiful club house. We do Artist Showcase on Thursday nights highlighting new comers to the secondlife music scene there. But Saturdays nights is the highlight of the week at Sunshine Daydreams Clubhouse. We run what we like to call a Whiskey Go' Round. Each performer Sings 3 songs and passes the mic. We started this awhile back and has become very popular. The key is after each song they drink! No driving allowed of course. But its a very relaxed atmosphere, no pressure just great music and a lot of fun.

Q: How does a musician get involved?

A: Anyone interested in playing at either venue should IM me, Sandi Benelli ,or my Partner Blood Klotzel, who is also now my Real Life Partner. We hope to see you all there and if you’re a musician hope to hear you there soon.

So if you are interested in a cool musical experience go on out and get yourself an Avatr in Second Life, it is free. I like to keep SL up in a separate window while I am working so I can listen to the music. It’s kind of like when I was a kid and the first FM stations started to sprout up! I heard Alice’s Restaurant one evening while sneaking a portable radio into my bedroom and stared at it while Arlo Guthrie went on and on about dodging the draft and the group W bench!
