I am delighted to have the support and submissions from so many talented people. Yup, not all my network is composed of CCIEs some of them are actually in other lines of work. We have collected a few perspectives on the Economy in this issue. We really do have quite a cross to bear given the current mess our recent load of politicians have harvested and delivered to us. What happened to the 90’s man? A time when a good IT professional could hop from job to job and double their income in less than 4 years? Hello 2008! I try to remain neutral and refuse to let you know if I am Conservative, Liberal, Republican or Democrat because that is not what the CCIE Flyer is all about. After all a Mexican kid from Dallas should never let on that his roots have left an indelible mark on his political leanings. I mean, look at Jeremy Philibin, who is a Republican running for a seat in the Delaware state house. I did not hold his political leanings against him and paid for lunch because he is a CCIE and that makes him special. Instead I want CCIEs and Cisco Channel partners to come away with some useful information about what is going on and CCIE career development. My “Work Work Work” piece on the last page is meant to send you away with a smile so don’t think I sleep with my iPhone hugged to my chest, I am married after all. My wife would make me sleep on the couch!
Thanks to Eve, Sam, Dave, Dan (my big brother), Dorota, Andre, Charles, Toby, Crispin, but especially my muse Eve. Without Eve I might not have started doing this at all. My wife Charleyne who has endured my constant giggling and babbling about the contents of this issue she is a gem. Really I have so much fun doing this that my sanity is in question.
So please read and enjoy.
I just do it to stay out of traffic.
