When I get to travel I really like to enjoy myself. I don’t seek pleasure like a young single man might, no; instead I find pleasure in meeting old friends and making new ones. So this time when I travel I am first meeting up with the folks at Nortech my new business partner, who has graciously invited me to join them in their booth at GITEX. Especially cool is that I get to spend the week at GITEX with Narbik and Scott Morris who are also going to be at the same booth with Nortech and me. This is really cool since we are going to get a chance to have a CCIE mixer and entertain visitors from around the world who we meet at GITEX.
The last time I went there were some great exhibits and as usual the mass of construction and skyscrapers surrounded the venue. The people were great and I met many new friends there. In fact the first time I met Narbik was in Dubai, so the city itself has yielded one great partnership as well. That was the beginning of the lower CCIE Boot Camp pricing! It’s true we can look back now and see that as Narbik cut his prices down to reasonable levels, the other training companies followed suit.
Then of course there were the ladies of GITEX, those fabulous models who flew into Dubai from around the world to have drinks with me. Well they really flew in to stand at various vendor booths; I was just a surprise added bonus for them! Then there was the band on opening night. I thought they were Pink Floyd at first, and then I stopped drinking! Local music provided by this group was top notch and there was also a group who did a traditional bit of folk dancing and singing. I was impressed because the guys really did a great job.
Then there is the cultural aspect of a trip like this and an event like GITEX. I was really surprised at this tent where sweet desert like treats were being prepared by a group of ladies from Iran. These are the things I remember when I look back at on my trip to GITEX.
Last year the folks at Voice Boot Camp hosted me at the event.
Faisal Kahn was a gracious host and I saw parts of Dubai many westerners probably never see.
As I am sure anyone would guess, my favorite meetings were with, CCIEs. Yup, there are quite a few in Dubai and there were many I met while there. The great thing about being the CCIE Agent is the CCIEs in my network.
So this trip I will be with Narbik and the great folks at Nortech like Anthony Linus, holding down the booth at GITEX. Come see Narbik and me and I will be happy to take your picture for the CCIE Flyer and to discuss the work we have going on behalf of CCIEs around the world.
Wednesday night after the show join our CCIE Mixer at the Buddha Bar next to the Grosvenor House
