There are many things a Network Engineer should consider when making career choices. First is one that many have already completed: the decision to gain certification as a CCIE. What happens next is often not as well considered or planned. With the high global demand for CCIE services, it is important to make the right decisions. A number of things are involved in the preparation for the next steps: items such as resumes and cover letters, salary negotiations and offer letters, immigration and visas, global financial issues, and avoiding pitfalls and dirty tricks (e.g., CCIE numbers used as collateral).
