To Blog Or Not To Blog?

by Larry Hadrava

For some that isn't even a question. For other more "mature" ( yes older would be a good translation ) folks like me - this might be a valid question. It certainly was for me. I really saw no benefit in it and quite frankly didn't read many blogs.

For some reason about 8 months ago, I decided to check out these blogs and see what all the hoopla was about. I went looking for blogs that dealt with CCIE Vocie study since that is what I'm working on for my second IE. I was surprised at what I found!!! I found some very useful information and made a few friends in the process.

That was it - I wanted some of this blogging stuff. So I set up a blog and started writing notes about technologies I was working with, study materials and all that neat stuff. Much to my surprise - people actually were reading the blog. My blog was actually featured in an IPexpert newsletter when the www.ccieblog.com community started.

I have really found the whole experience of blogging ( yes, much to my surprise ) quite fun and rewarding. I have made quite a few friends and several people read the blog regularly and we exchange emails behind the scenes.

I like to give people a useful venue of topics that they can use to help themselves if they are studying for the Voice IE track. I sure am glad that I decided to check out the world of blogging. Starting your own blog is pretty easy and quite surprisingly easy to maintain.

I personally have my blog hosted at www.ccieblog.com . There are many places that will host your blog should you decide to jump into the water. I encourage everyone to give it a try - as a reader or actual blogger. Like the old commercial used to say - "Try it, you'll like it".

I invite you to visit my blog at www.larryh.ccieblog.com

See you in the blogosphere ( I even learned this new word by blogging )!!
